Supplier of the Year 2006” - Confederation of British Metal Formers Award

High Precision Wales Ltd of Treforest, Mid Glamorgan and South Wales Forge-Masters of Taffs Well won two of only three national awards from the Confederation of British Metal Formers.  These companies played a key part in Accelerate Wales and benefited from the programme that was geared to improve performance through the introduction of best practice throughout the supply chain.

Andrew Davies, Minister of Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, congratulated High Precision Wales Ltd on its achievements. 

He said:  “ Their outstanding success in winning this prestigious award had also helped raise the profile of the expertise within the Welsh Automotive and Manufacturing Sector”.

High Precision Wales Ltd supply high precision manufactured components to Wales and the West Country whom were named “Supplier of the Year 2006” by the Confederation of British Metal Formers.

Nicky Blake (Technical Director) said: “The support and direction from the Accelerate Wales team had contributed to their success”. 

He added: “Over the past four years, Accelerate Wales has helped establish our company and others as the cream of British manufacturing, and these top class results are a result of their sterling efforts”.

South Wales Forge-Masters, a lead company in Accelerate Wales, supply high quality forgings (forging dies machined at High Precision Wales) to the automotive sector manufacturing parts for Jaguar and Mazda through Visteon Gearboxes based in Swansea as a tier one supplier.

“SWF” won the “Best Component” category incorporating the metals industry and Keith Thomas, who manages the Accelerate Wales Supply Chain Programme said the company’s first class relationship with its supply base was evident by the award given to High Precision Wales Ltd.
